On National Day of Malaysia Aug 31, 2010, something amazing happened near my office. Somewhere at the heart of Bangkok, after a evening shower, a rainbow suddenly popped up out of nowhere.
From 55th floor, the rainbow was just couple of hundred meter away. I didn't have a camera with me, but thanks to technology, an everything's mobile phone (phone, fax machine, camera, camcorder, video player, MP3 player, walkman, TV, radio, tape recorder, fax machine, computer, torch light, alarm clock, watch, stop watch, game and watch, digital book, QR code reader, organizer, portable hard disk, identity card, digital credit card, personal contact book, encyclopedia, GPS navigator, talking dictionary, calculator, calendar, internet browser, photo album, spirit level, compass, map etc) (refrigerator and microwave will be in the next generation phone, I believe :)) came to rescue.
From the floor I open the window and carefully stick my hand out with my HTC HD2 for the shot below. The quality is not the best but I am happy to have captured this moment, and hopefully retain the lucks come with the rainbow.
A shot with the rainbow
I tried to take a panorama that can include both legs. A rainbow spreads around 80° angle of view, for a single shot on a typical 35 mm camera, you will need a wide angle lens of 19 mm or below to include the whole semicircular.
Panorama shot is not so successful, so I changed to a video shot.
